Apartment Review for Citation Club At Palmer Ranch - Sarasota, FL

After living here for more than 3 years, I can tell you what a difference management makes. The place was beautiful, safe, and had friendly management 3 years ago. All that has changed now. I'm writing this after the latest problem I've had with Dawn (everyone who lives there knows who she is, she'll know who I am when she reads this, and I really don't care). Yesterday my daughter and wife returned home from work and school to find our master bathroom "used"....clothes on the toilet seat from that morning were thrown off to the floor, gates moved to get to the master bedroom (where the bathroom is), and an obvious, recent smell of air freshener (which we noticed was moved under the kitchen sink from it's previous use over 2 months before). As usual, when my wife (then me when I got home from work) talked to Dawn, she was defensive and accusatory...even accused my daughter of bringing friends in during the day (she's 13, and was at school all day, returned home the same time my wife did). Was obviously upset that we would even think to accuse a maintenance staff member of doing anything like that (we have no key copies, noone else had access to our door key except the apartment management and staff). No windows were removed, no break-in, and the doors were all locked back when we got home. The last incident was when the driveways were paved recently...after giving us 2 maps for where we need to park the night before to avoid being in a work area, I moved my car as instructed, and found my car towed the next morning. I found it on the other side of the complex, and when I confronted Dawn, she told me that there was no way they made a mistake, and told me I'd be charged on my monthly bill for the tow fee. I even brought a copy of their "latest" map to show her where I parked....it took over an hour for her to finally call maintenance and verify that I DID, indeed, park in the correct spot, and they mistakenly towed my car. There were more problems, and 90% involved Dawn and her snobby, accusatory manner. I've heard several people say the same thing. This woman will end up costing the complex alot of money, but that's not our worry anymore, the first chance we get to leave, we will. The complex will now rent to ANYONE, criminals, drug dealers, anyone. I've had multiple problems with neighbors, kids throwing stuff at our windows, and even had to have the police out when a kid shot my daughter and her friend with a BB gun. The area is beautiful, but the complex is NOT safe, and I wouldn't recommend anyone with kids to go there. Or anyone, for that matter.
