Apartment Review for The Lexington Apartments - Sarasota, FL

This complex is one of the few places that is affordable to live and is in a somewhat central location. Hence, there are a lot of diverse families and working folks trying to make ends meet in a city where the cost of living is through the roof. With this varied "neighborhood", in such close quarters, of course you are going to have some of the same issues that you might encounter in living in a big city- noise, parking, security, visitors, etc. So if you want total peace and quiet, living in an affordable apartment complex is probably not where you should sign a lease. I have had a few issues with the quality of the management and maintanence of the property, but overall have been satisfied with living there. I do wish though, that there was better supervision of the pool area, and that there was better hours and more consistant access to the laundry area especially the room in which the laundry card machine is located. However, the location is great - close to supermarkets, K-mart, I-75 etc. As of June '05 the Lexington has been bought by new management, so we will have to see what they do to improve the property.
