Apartment Review for The Lexington Apartments - Sarasota, FL

I am lived in the Lexington Hood for 3 years. Longer than most due to the fact that Sarasota is expensive. We have seen more bugs in the last three years than in my 28 years of living in FL. but the management says, "well, its FL". I don't believe that. We have done some of our own pest control but wonder about why this is an ongoing problem. I was horrified when we moved in. The only thing good was new carpet. The apartment had not been cleaned, screens ripped, leaking ceilings, paint was dumped into the bathtubs and sinks and the management (past managment) insisted that it had been cleaned. They have not responded timely to our requests for maintenance. We have been through several managers and now a new property company. Same problems so far. They have decided to repaint the outside but I am not sure if people will think that it looks nice. Its still the hood. We have had ongoing power surges...wondering if that is why we have had to replace two sets of washers and dryers. I can't wait to leave....which will be soon. I never thought we would be here 3 years. I don't feel very safe here. I live in the front and it feels a little better than in the back of the complex but not a lot of lighting. We do have good neighbors...thank goodness for that.
